Centering into Being: A Somatic Movement Workshop

Before we found our spine, orientation began towards our navel centre. Join Suhad for a Somatic movement exploration to inquire into how we might reclaim or repattern something of a very early pre-vertebral development – the very point around which our initial sense of centre and organisation started to form a blueprint towards our being.

In a world that often feels saturated with choices and information, finding our centre and aligning with who we are at our core can be a challenging task. This somatic workshop explores differentiating body parts, and integrating them into our sense of whole.

We will inquire into:

Through deep listening to our internal movement, sensing and feeling, we will explore the Naval Radiation (Starfish) movement pattern and uncover ways that support us in navigating both our internal and external ways of being.

How can we initiate movement from our Naval working with our inner sensations towards an outward expression, radiating from our deep sense of knowing?

We will explore and deepen our  embodiment of early pre-vertebrate patterns, understanding their embryological roots and gently meeting any areas where movement has become limited or restricted.

You would be able to work with themes that support your inquiries and curiosity around:

How do you currently navigate the internal and external world? What do you orient towards when overwhelmed or pulled in multiple directions? What are the strategies you’ve developed for being in the world and staying safe?

Suhad will guide you through exploring how to cultivate a sense of centred presence – both inwardly and outwardly. These workshops are opportunities to explore your Soma (the body experienced from within), deepen your understanding of your needs, and develop an inner witness to your kinaesthetic, proprioceptive, interoceptive, and tactile experiences. You will also have the option to integrate your experiences through journaling or drawing, fostering a deeper connection to your embodied self.

Through this safe and supportive space, you will learn how to listen to the symphony of sensory messages, impulses to move, images. Suhad will draw on themes of: self and others, content and container, Infant movement patterns (Basic Neurocellular Patterns) to support the shift from fragmentation to integration and well-being.

Who is this for?

These workshops are accessible to all bodies: individuals seeking to deepen their connection with their body’s innate wisdom.  Individuals seeking a gentle and embodied approach to movement and healing. Those experiencing chronic health conditions, autoimmune disorders, or Long Covid. Anyone who finds traditional yoga practices challenging or inaccessible.

Suhad’s intention is to provide a safe and supportive space for you to reconnect with your body’s natural capacity for healing and restore balance at all levels.
