Somatic Movement Workshop

June 28 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Stabilisation and Care During Difficult Times
(Rest, Movement and Dance)

Nervous System Stabilisation: Embodiment of Play and Curiosity.

Join Suhad for a deeply supportive somatic workshop dedicated to stabilising, negotiating, and reclaiming capacity of the nervous system to regulate. In this workshop, we will explore the delicate balance of our autonomic states, focusing specifically on how to differentiate between the sympathetic activation of hyper-vigilance (fight-or-flight) and the life-affirming activation of play, connection, and belonging.

Our nervous system is our body’s primary recording system, registering sensations and directing our responses based on past imprints. Often, when the nervous system has been shaped by chronic stress or trauma, it can misinterpret high energy as a threat, locking us into a state of chronic hyper-vigilance. In this safe and supportive space, we will learn to physically ground our awareness into our tissues and nerves, cultivating the somatic resources needed to soothe the system and return to a state of safety.

By learning to stabilise our physiological state, we open up the capacity for true play—a state of high-energy connection that allows for creativity, vitality, and ease. We will explore how to meet the imprints that keep us feeling guarded or defensive, and practice the gentle art of down-regulating and self-soothing when the world feels like too much.

You will develop the skills to stabilise within the body’s intelligent responsiveness—learning to engage with openness and care as a move toward creation and away from numbness or denial. Through somatic practices, we will embody an interdependent presence, reclaiming communal safety as a way to face our shared reality without having to face it alone or in isolation.

This workshop is an invitation to explore your Soma (the body experienced from within) and learn how to build the nervous system flexibility required to move easily between activation and rest in community.

Suhad’s intention is to provide a safe and supportive space for you to reconnect with your body’s natural capacity for healing and restore balance at all levels.
