Yin Yoga Workshop with Nina
Finding Connection, Revealing truth
The World in its current climate seems far away from peace, community and oneness. It may be hard to find comfort or connection when there is so much fear and discourse. We cannot bypass this with platitudes or “love and light”, but we can explore how Yoga principles and practice can help us balance and find resilience amongst chaos. The courage to live with authentic action (karma) and seek truth (satya).
Yin yoga offers time for silent reflection. The practice is suitable for all levels of yoga practitioner. Lying and seated poses are held for a longer period of time allowing the body to move gently into deeper stretches. We can let go of any striving and connect to our inner experience.
This practice supports good health by massaging the deep connective tissues that conduct vital energy throughout the whole body. This combination of deep stretching and silent reflection work well together to both stimulate and calm the physical body; rebalance the energy body and cultivate psychological resilience.
To complement this we will continue to reveal our deeper motivations through Sankalpa – a powerful practice of setting a positive and affirmative intention aligned with one’s true purpose to manifest change and transformation. So, similar to a resolution, but aligned to your yogic practice through the 8 Limbs. The Sankalpa’s effect is to awaken the willpower within by uniting the conscious awareness with the unconscious forces lying dormant.
San = connection with truth Kalpa = vow
The workshop includes:
- Sankalpa – intention
- Pranayama/Pratyhara – preparation
- The Asana – connection
- Meditation – absorption
We finish off with a Metta Bhavana, meditation of loving kindness.
Come and join me and explore opening the body, heart & mind.
