Suhad Aljundi

Vinyasa Yoga & Somatic Yoga | Somatic Movement & Trauma Practitioner

Qualified in India and further trained in Advanced Vinyasa under Stewart Gilchrist, Suhad brings the “fire” of Vinyasa to an accessible level. She invites students to challenge themselves at the intersection of restorative movement (Asana) and breath. Influenced by Vinyasa Krama—the ancient practice of synchronising mind, body, and breath within a single time frame—Suhad’s classes are a “moving meditation” that welcome all levels through thoughtful modifications and variations.

With a deep background and practice rooted in Ashtanga and traditional Hatha yoga, Suhad’s teaching is uniquely enriched by her path as a Somatic Movement and Trauma Therapist. She views the yoga shape not as a rigid goal, but as a map—a starting point for a deeper contemplation of the body. Her mission is to guide students beyond the external form toward a sense of “inner flexibility” and radical aliveness. She brings a compassionate, healing touch to her sequences, emphasising the joy of embodiment. Suhad is deeply committed to creating inclusive, restorative spaces for the Global Majority and marginalised voices, honouring movement as a path of collective empowerment.

Weekly Somatic Yoga and Monthly Somatic Workshops  (The Art of Aliveness and Rest)

For Suhad, movement is far more than exercise; it is a process of decolonising the body to contact true aliveness and deep rest. Her Somatic Yoga practice is an invitation to explore your edges, recover your sense of belonging, and reclaim your right to find balance between rest and motion. As a trauma-informed therapist, Suhad focuses on resourcing the nervous system. She facilitates movement that honours your “window of tolerance,” building capacity and resilience rather than pushing toward overwhelm or shutdown.

Whether you arrive wanting to come to deep rest or seeking to move, this class is dedicated to helping you cultivate an embodied awareness. Suhad will bring in “gems” of somatic awareness, weaving together infant movement development patterns with deep knowledge of our Nervous System and our Endocrine system . When sensing and feeling with guided movement and the supportive use of props and/or self-touch, you will learn ways to self-soothe, regulate, and release the tension held within your tissues.
