Karen Livesey MRSS (registered practitioner with the Shiatsu Society)
Karen's interest in a Zen approach to life began with the Martial Art Aikido which she practiced in her teens. Since then a combination of meditation and creative experimentation has underpinned her work. Prior to qualifying as a Shiatsu Practitioner, Karen worked in community development and as a film-maker. In this often unpredictable and stressful industry she found Shiatsu a profoundly effective way of rebalancing and altering her energetic state. This led to her studying Shiatsu.
Having qualified as a Shiatsu practitioner in 2005 from the British School of Shiatsu-Do, Karen has over five years of clinical experience. Her broad client base includes those looking for general health support, relaxation and stress relief, as well as treatments for specific conditions. She has worked very closely with people tackling substance abuse and addiction issues, women during pregnancy, and artists and people stuck in their creative flow. Karen keeps up her skill and energy with ongoing study, and is currently studying movement Shiatsu.
